Our Missions

Thank you to all who have contributed to making Mission activities a success in 2025.  Over the past year we have continued to help others in our own community and in the greater world.   

Seafarers’ Mission:  Our longstanding support of Seafarers’ Mission continued.  We collected gift items from June thru November and were able to deliver a carload to the Mission… enough to supply at least one ship (about 20 – 25 crew)!   Last year the Mission provided gifts to 155 crew who were in port in December/January and expected to do at least that many again this Christmas season.  We are a significant partner to the Mission in providing Christmas cheer to those men and women who are away from their homes and families for extended periods of time and whose work on the seas is essential in the supply of goods around the world.

Christmas Families:  For many years St. Augustine’s has partnered with St. Mark’s Church to provide groceries for KV area families at Christmas.  In 2025 our church collected gift cards to support eleven families.  

Memory Angels:  This year our Advent Memory Angels project raised $350.  Combined with net proceeds from the NB Power lunch and some additional funds we were able to send $900 to both Alongside Hope Canadian Food Grains Bank and KV Food Basket.  These programs both work to counter food insecurity, one in developing countries and one here in the Valley.

Tutoring:  In 2025, in partnership with our upstairs tenant L’AMI, our church provided tutoring to two children in elementary and middle school who were identified as kids who could benefit from extra help with their studies.   We are continuing this new and valuable ministry in 2026.

KV Food Basket:  Parishioners are encouraged to drop off non-perishable food items at the church for delivery to the KV Food Basket.

At Home Parishioners: At Easter and Christmas, gifts were delivered to parishioners who are not able to come to church.
