Once again this past year St. Augustine’s has been active helping others in the community and abroad. Many thanks to all those who have supported our Mission activities.
Seafarers’ Mission: Our longstanding support of Seafarers’ Mission continued. Twenty three gift bags were collected and delivered to the Mission to provide Christmas cheer to those men and women whose work on the seas is essential in the supply of goods around the world but is often lonely and dangerous.
Christmas Families: For many years St. Augustine’s has partnered with St. Mark’s Church to provide groceries for KV area families at Christmas. In 2023 our church collected gift cards to support nine families.
Memory Angels: This year our Advent Memory Angels project raised $650.
These funds were supplemented with money raised through our community dinners resulting in $650 for the Primates’ World Relief and Development Fund and $500 for Beacon Cove. The PWRDF funds allow for participation in a bread grains project which helps with food security in developing countries. Beacon Cove is a shelter and place of support, encouragement and counselling in Saint John for young people who are in need of these services.
KV Oasis: Funds were provided on a monthly basis throughout part of 2023 to KV Oasis, a youth centre in Quispamsis (not in operation at this time).
KV Food Basket: Those parishioners who wish to support the KV Food Basket are encouraged to drop off non-perishable food items at the church. A number of items were delivered to the Food Basket throughout the year.
At Home Parishioners: At Easter and Christmas, gifts were prepared and delivered to parishioners who are not able to come to church.
Thank you to all for your participation in our Mission work.
